Commands

Run commands from the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P, or Cmd+Shift+P on macOS) by typing FossID. Some commands appear only after you sign in. Some are only available from a menu or Quick Fix.

Sign-in and connection​

FossID: Set UpOpens the sign-in window if you aren't signed in. If you are, it re-registers FossID with your AI assistants and reinstalls the skills.
FossID: Sign InOpens the sign-in window. See Signing in.
FossID: Sign OutRemoves your FossID sign-in and keeps the server address. Also ends your FossID session at Okta.
FossID: ReconfigureOpens the sign-in window to change server or account. Also in the … menu of the Policies view, and behind the status bar when there is a connection problem.
FossID: Set Server URLChanges the server address only, without checking it.
FossID: Test ConnectionChecks that FossID can reach your server with your sign-in, and reports the result.
FossID: Reset ConfigurationAfter confirmation, clears the server address and your sign-in, then opens the sign-in window.
FossID: Request AccessPrepares an email to FossID asking for access, for users who aren't customers yet. Also the Contact FossID button in the Setup view.

Scanning​

FossID: Scan WorkspaceScans the whole workspace (first folder), replacing current results. Also in the … menu of the Policies view. See Scanning.
FossID: Scan Workspace Against Volume…Scans the workspace against one of your custom scan volumes, adding to current results.
FossID: Rescan Current FileSaves and rescans the active file right away, even if it is excluded. Also runs when you click the auto-scan status bar item.

AI assistants and maintenance​

CommandWhat it does
FossID: Copy MCP URLCopies the address of the fossid-mcp or fossid-editor server, or a JSON snippet with both, for connecting another MCP client.
FossID: Clean Up Workspace ConfigsAfter confirmation, stops the scanner and removes FossID's entries from .vscode/mcp.json, .mcp.json and .cursor/mcp.json. It keeps other servers in those files. Run it just before uninstalling. See Troubleshooting.
